In the middle of our neighborhood there is a small cart on which a person sits. He advances, pushed by two people behind him. A voice comes from afar, interrupting my observation. “Ibrahim, get away from here.” It is the voice of our neighbor Elias. Who rented his house as a filming studio for the series “Palestinian Exile.

Syria – Safita – Summer 2004

A girl walking towards a lone tree in the middle of the ground, dragging with her a large white bag. A voice coming from afar. “Cutting.” It is my voice. Syria – Damascus countryside – 2020

Ibrahem Melhem, Syrian director and producer, born in 1989. After extensive experience in the field of image making that lasted for 10 years, I decided to devote myself to studying directing. I spent a long period as an editor for many projects, and I worked as an artistic producer and director for some of them. I collaborated with Syrian directors on various projects, which contributed to the development of my artistic and intellectual tools.

So far, I have completed a short narrative film that participated in the 2023 Red Sea Festival, and directed a feature-length documentary in cooperation with Syrian director Allaith Hajjo, in addition to many lyrical and promotional videos and short films.
